At first when complimenting the bride - be serious. Show her that you care about her and that you are proud of her.When welcoming your son-in-law to your family be sincere.  Make the joke in the beginning or ending, but when welcoming them be serious.Honestly do give your daughter good marriage advice during the speech. This is recognition on how the bond you two share will never diminish, and you will always play a significant role in her life.When addressing the couples strength, show respect for them. Also be careful you do not bring up sore memories.And as always, sincerely support the marriage, give your blessings, and give a sweet, short toast to the bride and groom.
